“I strive to live a purposeful life, to foster connection, community, and learning. I love the good things — meals with friends, dirty jokes, singalongs, relaxing on the beach, movie nights, and tall glasses of iced tea, but when I sit at my desk to dream, I’m drawn to the shadows, to broken toys, abandoned buildings, and characters haunted by the aftershocks of a brutal life.”

— Jane Keir
